The Lawrence Journal World ran a story this morning by Jennifer Smith announcing the “Historic Trees of Douglas County” project. The project is funded by a grant from the Natural and Cultural Heritage Grant Program of Douglas County. A group of Douglas County Master Gardeners, along with Smith, the County Horticulture agent wrote and submitted the proposal last fall, and received approval to do the program.
