As the snow melts and the temperature rises, it’s time to plan for new things for this year’s garden. Think about creating new beds or other infrastructure for the season to come.
I’ve had raised-beds since the 1980s and find them very simple to maintain and highly productive. You can go cheap with re-purposed materials or high-end with cedar or plastic lumber. Here’s a short, informative video with a nice overview of bed types an materials. http://www.hfrr.ksu.edu/p.aspx?tabid=980&itemid=253&cmd=view#253
K-State has a great 4 page document with much more on raised beds. Here’s the link; http://www.ksre.ksu.edu/bookstore/pubs/mf2134.pdf
